It would be very foolish to go after the Malvinas again, at least from a military point of view. With no real anti-submarine warfare capability the navy would suffer the fate of the Gen. Belgrano (a US cruiser sold to Argentina)--sunk in the last war.

The english have tomahawk cruise missiles which are now much more effective than the exocet. The military balance has very much shifted toward the english since the last war.

Burleigh:
Don't worry about the Malvinas. Worry about yourself. You're
going to get flamed for putting non tango items on this
list. Now, if England was going to invade Argentina with
International style tango, that would be different. I'm sure
the Argentines could defend themselves with some well placed
ganchos.

Burleigh,

It's the BRITISH! ...NOT the 'English'!
For God's sake man, get it right!!!
I assume you're American? Do you live on the colonies?

I have problems with malvinas, too. I can do them OK in a vals or milonga, but in a regular tango I just can't seem to make them work. Especially a slow Pugliese. Try doing a malvina to a slow Pugliese sometime and see how bloody hard it is.

Rick

P.S., real milongueros call them 'malbinas', with a 'b'.

Well Rick, if people would just quit trying to do those "show style"
malvinas and concentrate instead in deepening their Falkland close
embrace/British passion tango, the world would be a better place and tango
bliss would be within everyone's reach ;-)

Me too. My malvinas are killing me just now.
I thought I'd go visit my doctor but have been warned that they might well choke them with rubber bands!
Sounds painful!
Has anyone ever heard a rubber band? I hear most even have a rubber bandoneon AND player...!
When they play it, La Cumparsita is a reeeaaaaalll stretch, they say. Makes you feel like dancing elastic tango.
