I feel when someone teaches
Slow, Slow, Quick, Quick, slow.
I feel they may be teaching you that it is good to be able to change your
stepping to what the music makes you step, fast or show.
And Slow, slow, quick, Quick, slow does fit most songs well.
I wouldn't teach my students that this is a set pattern, just a pattern to
practice to. And I would use this stepping in an exercise, not a dance pattern.
(Even though it would fit)

One step at a time is my basic.
But you have to know when to step on the gas pedal, and when to take your
foot off the gas.

Alex Krebs has one of the best musicality classes that I've seen.
In it he asks the class to step to 3 quicks in a row, to the music.
Then step to 5 quicks.
Then step to 7 quicks steps in a row, and to the music.
But Alex differently did not teach stepping to Slow, Slow, Quick, Quick, Show.
Alex also taught the difference in moving to the Marcada in 2 and the Marcada
in 4
Everyone should be in Alex's musicality class, It's great.

Just my $0.02
