Thank you for the many responses to my request for
information on shoe companies that make custom-sized or
custom ordered shoes. (This request was for a student who
has one foot a half-size larger than the other.) Here's a
summary in case others have similar needs.
1. Nordstrom will fit and sell an unmatched pair.
2. Flabella in Buenos Aires works from tracings of feet.

I have a customer with one foot size 9 and one foot 10.5. She special
orders from us and we have the factory make an odd sized pair. She seems
happy and continues to order from us.
We also make special shoes for our regular customers in their choice of
materials and colors.
I have also heard that Freed will do the same for ballroom-type shoes.
