Subject: With resolve to keep on dancing
Hello Melinda and all on the list,
I'm at home with a broken leg these past few months away from the wonderful
tango community here in San Francisco. In the past when I've been going
through personal loss, I've found such solace in dancing tango. The silent
comfort of being in a friend's arms moving around the dancefloor helped me
through many a distressing day. I wish I could rejoin my community here
during this most unsettling of times.
This morning I was leafing through The Essential Rumi and found the poem
below which seems uniquely appropriate to post to this email list:
The morning wind spreads its fresh smell.
We must get up and take that in,
that wind that lets us live.
Breathe before it's gone.
Dance, when you're broken open.
Dance, if you've torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance, when you're perfectly free.
Namaste,
Debra Mugnani
