Subject: tango insects
In Washington, it's that time of the year for the tango insects called
cicaddas. They come in
two forms: front cicaddas and back cicaddas. Back cicaddas are rarer than
front cicaddas. Some cicaddas start walking on their left foot (if you
can call it a foot) while some begin walking on their right foot.
Cicaddas are able to change direction very quickly because they able to
pivot easily.
