Conversations about Argentine Tango...why they can be boring.

I have found that every person is an expert and at the same time no one
is an expert.

Argentine Tango is very personal and different for each person. Those
that do not realize this are in for a lot of conflict. There are
techniques that should be common and yet there is always someone who
says that it is different and only their way.

I have had instructors that gave advise that was not very helpful and
sometimes detrimental. Then other instructor's advise took me to another
level.

As an instructor myself, often times I inform my classes when there is
disagreement over movements and techniques. Then I teach them what has
worked for me and let them make up their own minds. Tango is an
individual dance created by two people who come together at that moment
to fill a canvas for that time only.

The composition is a three dimensional tapestry. Filled with the musica,
and two people, sometimes even strangers, who express and interpret
their feelings of the music and of each other in movements of tango.
Sometimes observers can watch and agree with the interpretation and
others will disagree.

It is not something to be so analyzed but to be felt, expressed and
enjoyed.
