Subject: Re: Tango, nudity and sex appeal
A teacher of mine, one of the great maestros (who shall remain unidentified) told me he tried dancing tango naked, but it didnt work because the bodies stuck together. I didn't press him for details nor did I ask if naked meant without shoes too. I have never tried naked tango myself. It is problematic enough fully clothed.
On another related note, one night in the milonga my male friend R. spotted an attractive woman decked out in full man trap slutty couture. Inspired, R moved across the floor to invite her to dance. Two songs later he was back next to me looking quite disenchanted. "Back so soon?" I commented. "Yes," he said "False advertising".
Do you want to be known as a great dresser who dances badly or as a great dancer who dresses badly. I think the goal should be to walk into the milonga without makeup, hair in a pony tail and dressed like you just scrubbed the bathroom and STILL THE LEADERS LINE UP TO DANCE WITH YOU!
Sincerely,
Sarah La Rocca, NYC
