This may not be tremendously helpful, but...

When my wife and I were in Paris about 18 months ago, we found two really
cool places to tango.

One place was just off Hotel DeVille, on the right bank. From Rue St.
Antoine, it was just a few feet up Rue du Temple (or a street parallel to
it). Second floor. Kind of small. Might be called Bistrot Latin or La
Latina. It seemed to be open a fair amount of evenings. Not spectacular,
but a nice place to hang out in the evenings.

The other place is even harder to describe. It was in an old Iron Worker's
Union Hall on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 - 9:00 pm. I think it was called
Ball de Metaleaux or something like that. It was up past Place de la
Republique and north off of Rue de Belleville. It was really a pretty
spectacular afternoon. A French friend took us, and I've never seen it
mentioned in El Once or any other place. Don't know if it's a regular
occurence or if it was just a one-time thing.

We also went to a little tiny underground milonga up in Montmarte. Don't
remember the name, but it was not worth remembering, either.

Hope that helps.

Try to google a bit around, mate. This should work.

i.e.:
les temps du tango:
https://perso.club-internet.fr/tango/

la casa del tango:
https://perso.wanadoo.fr/lacasadeltango/

and more ...

Also there are some links to be found at 'El Farolito' -

Bon sejour a Paris!

During the summertime, many tango events in Paris are cancelled. Try the
outdoor milonga at Quai St. Bernard. It's a summertime only activity.

Alejandro,

Alex Kumming is a tanguero from Portland and Eugene who left the NW
several years ago. He worked and danced in BsAs for a couple of years, and
now has relocated to Paris where he publishes a tango magazine called el
Farolito with his partner, the lovely Veronika. They have a website at:
www.paristangomag.com. Their email is info@paristangomag.com, however I know
they are very busy and always under a publishing deadline, so my impression
is they don't read/answer their email every day. However on their website
under the link "Where to find us" they list some of the milongas in Paris
where they distribute their magazine, so that might get you started.

Tell them I sent you!

Good Luck!

J

There's a magazine called "El farolito", which seems quite informative about
the Parisian tango scene. It's published every month and available for free
and various relevant places such as the Café Sur (25, boulevard St-Germain,
75003) and the milonga/cinema Bistrot Latin (which Derek mentioned: 20 rue
du Temple, 5 min from the Centre Pompidou).
