What Argentine tango tunes (neo-tango or otherwise) would be
especially good for a Wedding Reception Dance Party?

Looking forward to your suggestions. Also, it would be helpful if you
can give a hint as to where I can purchase the song or the album as
needed. Thanks.

One obvious choice would be Biagi's "La Marcha Nupcial" - the wedding march
interpreted as a tango (!)

It is track no.4 on the CD "Pura Clase", Rodolfo Biagi y Su Orquesta, by Blue
Moon, Catalogue no. BMT 021, sung by Teofilo Ibanez.

Also found, apparently, in another version as track no.20 on "Sus
Exitos Con Jorge Ortiz", Rodolfo Biagi y Su Orquesta, on the EMI Reliquias
label ( https://www.tangostore.com/cds_detalle.php?idx67 ), sung by Jorge
Ortiz.

Hmm, these may be the same recording, sung by Jorge Ortiz. I see only one
version on the Biagi discography at todotango.com:

So maybe the singer's name on BMT 021 is a mistake.

Good luck!

A classic choice is the wedding march played by Rodolfo Biagi. Of course,
it would need to be a somewhat campy wedding reception, as some might
consider the music to be a little over the top.

The vals Desde Al Alma played by Pugliese or Color Tango is a nice choice.

Yes: track no.20 of that album

No: It's not instrumental. (Singer: Jorge Ortiz)
I've played it for a couple 2 weeks before their wedding, though in a real wedding instrumental recording will probably be a better choice.

Apart from Pugliese and Color Tango suggested by Steve, IMHO, putting on some other nice valses (e.g. by Alfredo de Angelis) may be suitable for a wedding. In general, not limited in valse, Horacio Salgan, Carlos di Sarli, Hector Varela, and Osvaldo Fresedo are good too.

Might I suggest the guardia vieja tango, La Guiqada, by Adolfo
Carabelli. Its arrangement is quite appropriate to the dignity of such
an occasion, and part of the chorus is very reminiscent of a peal of
church bells. You will find it on El Bandoneon CD 87 "Cuatro Palabras".

There are also versions by Calo, D'Arienzo and Baffa which just don't
quite cut the mustard as far as the church bell atmosphere is concerned.

Good luck!
