Subject: visit to El Beso
In response to the posting by Janis Kenyon regarding
El Beso in Buenos Aires.
I am a female tango enthusisast from Atlanta Georgia,
recently returned from
a two week vacation in Buenos Aires.
I am surprised at the experience of Ms. Kenyon at El
Beso because mine was
totally the opposite. Although I have been to a number
of other very enjoyable milongas
in Buenos Aires, (this was my third trip), I found
myself going to El Beso
most often because I was made to feel very welcome
there. I thought that
the decor was lovely, the staff was friendly &
attentive, the music was
great, and the dance floor was excellent. Also, I
liked the size of the
room. There is plenty of space to dance, but it is
small enough to make for
a relaxed atmosphere and easy eye contact. I had many
very enjoyable dances
there. The food is good, too. I saw other
out-of-towners returning to "El
Beso" frequently during my stay, so I know that my
favorable impression of
the place was not unique. If I was asked to recommend
a place to go and
dance tango in Buenos Aires, El Beso would be the
spot I would say not to
miss.
Buena suerte-
