Subject: Ways to Surpress tango?
I am afraid to admit that Celia's and Beso's were fire traps, the way people
were squeezed in these places and the absence of escape routes made me feel
very uneasy.( I am a restauranteur in the US and It is my duty to provide my
customers with a safe environment to be in and an easy one to leave if the
situation necessitates). Wooden floors are not the issue of course, but flamable
ceilings, lots of cigarettes and blocked passageways are.
Zealous over reaction is not the cure......is this just another way to
surpress tango? Hmmmmmm,,,,,I wonder. ON the other hand, I was in BsAS from 98
on,when one could actually get in and out of one's table in order to dance,
last August in 2004, it became nearly impossible to catch an eye, get away from
the table and then return to your chair with grace, balance and pleasure.
'The milongas have become so over crowded that I wondered, even without the
fire, if I could dance in BsAS and accept the physical body assaults on both the
dance floor and the seating area. Getting beat up, yet aloned burned up, was
not my idea of a good tango time. La Morocha.
