Aurora:

Men may smell bad - of garlic, of cheap wine, of sweat, of cologne. Or grab. Open Embrace could come in handy.

Sometimes, rarely, you may meet someone special. You'd wish to dance close and make an impression.

Dear Lucia:

Exactly. Start open, see how it goes...Close in
later...lol.

PS - You forgot to mention that men and women do not
like total strangers going immediately into a close
embrace with their loved ones. This is definitely not
a cool move on the dance floor.

We all really need to be able dance all styles, not
just one, for very practical reasons. We should
probably start with the style that is proper in a
formal setting with strangers, and then move into the
more informal styles later. In the end all styles are
valid for different reasons.
