I'd asume the same as Benjamin.
Interesting thing happend to me once: Being at one of the best
milongas of the world [a place where people travel to around the
world] I re-met someone I met earlier at that place. While saying
hello she mentioned that this time she drove all the way with her
friend so-and-so ... and showed me the female good friend sitting a
couple of meters away on a sofa. Her friend recognizes our
attention,
walks up to us ... If you'd now expect a sort of introduction, me a
regular at that place, she and her friend more or less newcomers,
you'll loose: Her friend asked her to dance ... at an early stage of
the evening! Well, not only interupting the conversation between the
girl I knew and me, which I considered quite rude, but not taking the
chance to socialize and get to learn new people. I would have
definitly asked that girl for a dance later ... but not in that case!
For the rest: I do _not_ mind women dancing together. I'd actually
appriciate if also men were dancing together more ... there's a lot to
be learnd following (if you are a leader).

I find the controversy over women dancing together slightly disturbing.
Do men only dance tango with the possibility of sexual conquest in
mind? Do men only dance with women whom they find sexually attractive?
I like to lead because I enjoy interpreting the music with a follower,
or creating a nice dance for a good friend, among other things. I want
to dance with men (and women!) who feel the same way. I don't like the
thought of dancing with a man who just wants to get his hands on a
woman for 3 minutes!

NO! NO! NO! Dancin' is because of the fun of it, the enjoyment of moving
together to the music, interpreting it and the moment.

As woman will feel if a man is only interested in this part a man will feel
it vice versa! And avoid dancing with the counterpart for the future.
Of course sexually attractive moments can arise, but uncomfortable for at
least one side of it if one part of the couple is coming to the milonga with
the tongue allready hanging out ... . If those moment just arise out of a
situation, perhaps to the great surprise of both parts of the couple, that can be
very nice and interesting. And as long as both know (and respect) that with
the next tanda this will be over I'd consider that that can be a comfortable
"kick" for both of them!

That's quite a leap you're making there, Lois. Unless I missed
something, I believe the main complaint was that women were leading
women when the number of men was >= the number of women present, not
that men were being deprived of three potential minutes of groping
time.
Dear lord, never having been to Minnesota, between reading this
and watching Prince videos, I can only imagine that it must be one
heck of a steamy sexual jungle!
Seriously, if you were at a class or milonga where the women
outnumbered the men, I doubt you'd find the prospect of men dancing
with each other quite as charming as you might otherwise, that's
all. I really enjoy following from time to time, but if I tried
it at a milonga around here, the women would probably cut my legs
off. Well no, they'd probably indulge me for one dance, but then
it would be, "OK, that was amusing, now get back to work, sonny."
