I have run across a few tangos by Cayetano Puglisi and I'm falling in love
with their style. They are from the 20s & 30s and they have that Canyengue
rhythm. Their version of La Cumparsita is my favorite along with Criolla Linda, and
Rezongona.

Can anyone tell me more about this orquesta and does anyone have a CD by them
I can get a copy of.

Timmy,

Greetings,

Buenos Aires Tango Club carries a series called "Orquestas Olvidadas" and
CD-301 has five tangos by Cayetano Puglisi (I am not sure if they produce
it, but I know that they carry it). If you like the style, the whole CD has
a compilation of the tangos of the same era 1927-30. The CD also has, La
Tablada, Arrabal, Asi Es La Vida. I think the tangos in the CD are simply
wonderful and, yes, they are nostalgic. Agesilao Ferrazzano, Julio Pllero,
J.C. Cobian, Juan Guido, Luis Petrucelli are the other orchestras futured in
the CD. I recommend the series to all tango aficionados out there. Also,
look for the Series Orquestas for some Donato, Fresedo, Maglio, Firpo etc.
(I don't have any commercial interest in this)

As for Cayetano Puglisi I know that you can find information about him on
the www.todotango.com site.

I hope this helps,

Best Regards,
Manuk
