What a great image!

This is what the typical American couple needs to
learn when they begin dancing - to inspire each
other.

I'm not sure if that is really a great image. It
makes the Americans sound so puritan. If the art of
seduction has to be taught .... ;-)

Astrid, using a foot caress for seduction is so much
work, and so "show-off". You have to stop dancing,
and everyone else will see you.

I much prefer those seductive moves that are almost
invisible, the ones that are secrets shared between
the two involved. A little naughty, perhaps, but when
it happens, it is estacy.

Michael Ditkoff - I know exactly what you mean when
she "softly pulled [you] closer into her". I've felt
a few hearts beating myself.

It isn't a great image, but it is surely true. Actually, it is a huge
business. See: www.realsocialdynamics.com

BTW: most Northern Europeans suck at this as well.

:) You mean that the average latina (or latino) is so shy and withdrawing...
(even if you discount the stereotype)

Surely, but it is a different level. And no dancer starts with that kind of
sophistication. You have to start somewhere. Also: this kind of
"non-extrovert" forms is not necessarily for everyone. It largely depends on
your (and your partners) personality.

I greatly dispise the tendency between milongero/as on the northern
hemisphere and also on this list to promote a sort of regressive
introvertedness. Personally I am not an introvert and I'd feel badly if I'd
have to withdraw just for the sake of fashion. Of course, I don't mean that
I'll dance at a milonga like I'd dance on stage. I simply say, that I won't
be limiting my moves just because they are showy (if I feel like dancing
them). (I might limit them because of space, other dancers, my partners
abilities/comfort, but not only because it is not fashionable...)

Cheers,
Aron
