Subject: Sources on Tango History

>However, I suggest you look around on the net, you'll find enough resources

on this. (I recommend www.history-of-tango.com Christine Denniston - the
material she collected appears to be in accord with what I've learnt form
many other sources.)<

The following books are available in Spanish only:

On the history of tango I would recommend the study on CD format performed
by a team of Argentine researchers on the musicology and choreography of
tango "Antologia del Tango Rioplatense" desde sus comienzos hasta 1920.
from the Instituto nacional de Musicologia "Carlos Vega".

For a personal account on the formation of tango from someone who actually
lived in this period and mixed with people from this era I would recommend
"Cosas de Negros" by Vicente Rossi, originally from Uruguay.

The only internet source I found to be reliable with the information from
the above sources was discontinued years ago. It was written in Spanish by
the late researcher Andres M. Carretero.
