stage performers. They ended every tango as if they were on stage rather
than on a social floor. Maybe Zotto put in a good word for them with the
judges.

My Question:
Who the blazes is this women, Pichi of Buenos Aires-Janis Kenyon

It's nice that someone keeps us all updated on what is going on in BsAs. And
I appreciate their hard work, BUT why on earth does she need to rip apart a
couple who are trying their best to win a contest.
Not that she is picking on Richard and Colette. It could have been any other
couple for that matter. But ripping apart someone she doesn't like is uncalled
for in an open forum. It's only her opinion, but it's not asked for.
It's also unpleasant that she make the actuation that if you know Zotto, you
will surly get in the Finals, or maybe win. I wonder what a lawyer would think
about that last statement.(and it's in writing)

Colette is French Canadian representing the USA
Richard born in Florida
First of all, 3 cheers for the home team. GO USA!

Last weekend Richard and Colette were in Kent, and Cleveland, Ohio.
And I was really impressed with this couple. Their teaching skills were
extremely sharp. When the performed, their dance was clean, clear, exact, and held
your attention, and fit the music they were dancing to.
When they just danced socially (and without any showing off) It was like they
were a different couple. Your eye just stayed glued on them. I could just sit
and watch this couple all night when they just danced socially.
I would not call this couple wannabe. They have proven them self's.
I had several dances with Colette and when she was in my arms the room
suddenly was empty except for us. Not once did she make me feel like she was showing
off or dancing above my level. She stayed close to me like my cologne. I only
had to think when I wanted her to go and all of a sudden, she was already
there.
Richard (no I didn't dance with him) but my wife did. Manners up the wazoo. A
true gentleman in every word. And a wonderful dancer, no matter what Pichi
says.
It's not often when a couple come to your city, and the instructors make sure
they dance with every man and lady at the milonga. They did!

If you're not in your 60s or 70s, you not in Janis's league. And it's a pity
her mind is so closed. Janis get a job. You need to occupy your mind better.
You have to much free time to think of negative things. If you were such an
expert, they would have made you a judge. Of corse, everyone under the age of 60
would lose. Richard and Colette made it in each level to the finals. Five
different judges in each separate level passed this couple to the next level up.
OH ya, I didn't mention that they are the ISO Argentine Tango Champions of
2003. Janis, there are many different styles or brands of tango. Maybe there is
something about tango you don't understand. And if you were silent, it wouldn't
show.

Janis, a word from my departed mother.
If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

I do not know the couple in question and as a foreigner I don't think that
an opinion changes much. It was what she meant it to be: her opinion about a
couple. She was using proper language (maybe a little bit more explanation
on the remark "they can't dance" would have been more proper) and form and
she probably had her reasons if she wrote this down. If you are on a
different point of view you are free to argue. This is what this forum is
for.

This is dancing for god's sake. The favorite couple of a top trainer is
quite often favourite with the judges. Also, all participants are public
personas, as such these kinds of remarks and opinions are pretty much
allowed. This is a forum to exchange views and opinions, we are not in the
courtroom. Obviously, no sane person on the list thinks that Janis actually
meant that she KNOWS that Zotto was influencing the judges. It was a tongue
in cheek remark.

You see. Good counterarguments. There is no need to harass the other person
for her opinion. Enough to state the facts the way you see it. There are
adults on this list. They will decide who's arguments they accept (or none
or both).

That's personal and mean...Don't forget that she was criticizing the
couple's DANCING, she did not make remarks about their persons.

> OH ya, I didn't mention that they are the ISO Argentine Tango

IDO - International Dance Organization. I am not sure if winning a national
champinship at IDO means anything. The IDO World Champion for the last two
year is Hungarian. He is there is BsAs to compete. Did not make it to the
first 40 in salón...

I'd consider this an insult if I were her...

Have you switched on tv or opened a newspaper rarely? It is full of not-nice
things. Should we sue them as well?
OK. That was a joke: I believe that criticism is good, even if some people
find it unfounded. Obviously, if someone writes _only_ unfounded criticism
that's not nice, but everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. The only
requirement is to keep the conversation civilized and don't get personal.

I meant: lately. (reediting sentences produces strange results...) :)
