Dear Ed, Sergio, Astrid, Michael, Oleh,

While I firmly believe that PEOPLE are to be respected for what they are,
especially if we don't have a clue about their persons, the dancing STYLE
they represent may be criticized and this is the very place to do so.

There were arguments and counter arguments on the style and if we discard
all the stuff on disrespect (which was rather the result of the sloppy
construction of sentences than real insults), everything boils down to the
good old tradition vs. tango l'art pour l'art.

Oleh prefers more action and music in his tango and less interested in
elegance or traditions. I don't think this is a reason to attack him.

The incriminated sentence "closet ballroom dancers" was inconsiderate, but
not downright insulting. Such terms are quite often used in professional
critiques as well.

However, if you step over the semantical debate of whether these and other
words are to be considered as insults or not and look for the intent of
Oleh, you'll see that he simply considered the dancing of Nito and Elba less
adept than some _their_ peers. I think this is an opinion he is entitled to.


I respect Nito and Elba for their enthusiasm for tango and teaching, their
past as dancers, but I may not want to dance like them. However, this does
not rule out the possibility that I can (and will) learn from them. As such
I'd probably not make degrading comments, but rather just state that their
dancing style is not for me because it is too simple for my taste.

Dear Áron,
Sorry but I beg to differ. The statement below goes well beyond
inconsiderate and well into downright insulting. Oleh is welcome to his opinion
of a performance he viewed on a video, which seems to be the sum and total of
his experience of Nito & Elba, but he went considerably beyond that.
