Subject: Bailatango trip to Istanbul
Hello, tango dancers !
I am coming back from a trip to istanbul with Bailatango and Metin Yazir...
Actually, my mind is not really back yet, I find it very difficult to
realize it is already over, and on departing. the reaction of the group (we
were 15 from Geneva/Paris) was "we want to come back next year" !!!
We all had a great time: Istanbul is a magical town, an enchanting town...
imagine yourself smoking narghile at 5 o'clock a.m. in front of a musk,
surrounded by a crowd of relaxed Turks, when suddenly you hear the muezzin
cutting through the warm summer air... that was in between two tandas at
Metin's newly opened dance studio ( with a very nice wooden dance floor!)...
Dancing tango in Istanbul with Metin's team is a dream.... all these good
dancers will help you make your way to the dance floor, and then you will be
invited by other dancers and the hours will pass.... dancing the night
away...
Metin's organization, generosity, humour, friendliness... without speaking
about his great competence as a tango teacher made our stay a true success
!!!!
Thank you Metin, we all love you very much, in our group!

Subject: FW: [TANGO-L] Bailatango trip to Istanbul
Hello, List, I received a message from someone about the "gender ratio" in
Istanbul and the men's behaviour... I replied personnally but I would like
to share my views with you all:
The gender ratio was not bad, and infact was irrelevant: Metin organized
things really well, i.e. he had Turkish dancers to help him, as partners for
singles (you pay for it, but it's worth it, no doubt !) and to dance with us
in the milongas, so that people would see us dancing and would invite us
afterwards.. and people there, in general, are very polite and nice, over
and above being good dancers (excellent musicality !)... for instance, they
will take you to your seat after the series of dances.... so, at the end of
he day, we would be dancing hours and hours !!! this does not occur very
often, even in Buenos Aires...
She who wrote to me mentioned her disappointment, to say the least, at men's
behaviour in tango and asks about places with "REAL men"... I wonder what a
REAL man is (tango wise) and also, what a REAL woman is ...cause IMHO women
in tnago do not always behave perfectly,or do they ?
