 Subject: Piazzolla - Memoir

Following on Rajan's interesting post ...

Far be it from me to attempt to explain anything about Piazzolla; yet I
think it is fair to say the following.

As much as I find it fascinating to read what he had to say, as sharp and as
deliberate as he was, I always remember that he liked to be provocative; he
changed his mind a lot; he probed and sallied and teased and thought
out-loud. He would probably not repeat again many of the things he said. Or
he would say it a different way given the opportunity.

For that reason, it is easy to understand why many quarrel with his words.
He would too, in many instances, I believe.

After I sent that post yesterday, I thought about the many things I would
like to say about Astor. I'm ruminating as well on what to write on my
 website about his legacy, etc.

One is tempted to start off with buts, qualifications and such to be
 inclusive.

But I admitted to myself that none of the words mean anything beside his
best work. It speaks for itself.

So, I wrote a page tonight which ends up saying ... I don't like it all, but
at his best he took us where none of his detractors could.

I don't think he'd take much back that he said with his fueye.

My personal way of putting it is at https://ToTANGO.net/piazzolla2.html.

And I'm feeling that, for me, Piazzolla is still very much with us.
