Spring has arrived in Buenos Aires!!!!!

The first issue of a new tango magazine "El Tango y su gente" premiered in
June. The magazine was on sale at newspaper stands for $3. I didn't see it
until it was available free at a milonga. The third issue was distributed
this month at the milongas. eltangoysugente@email.com

VivaBUE, La Revista del Turista -- this is an official guide of Buenos
Aires, published monthly. It has a wealth of information for tourists and
is written in English. I found it interesting that the guide recommends the
use of radio taxis "because they are safer depending on the hours and the
neighborhood." It contains a section on neighborhoods with maps, tango, how
to get around, shopping, hotels, restaurants, museums, and general
information. It's free. Ask for a copy at the airport tourism desk.

B.A. Tango--Buenos Aires Tango, the tango magazine in its 7th year of
publication, was a little late for September, but it's now available. It
contains the Guia Trimestral as a supplement with all the classes, milongas,
shoe stores, music stores, dinner shows, etc. listed in a compact book to
carry with you. If you don't come across one in the milongas, you can
obtain a copy at Moreno 2562, 13 "H" on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from
 4:30pm to 7:30pm.

The milonga, Buenos Aires Tango, had its opening on Wednesday, September 12.
Ricardo Vidort is teaching a two-hour class from 3-5pm which is free during
September. It's a good opportunity for visitors to have a lesson from a
milonguero in English. The milonga begins right after the class. Come and
see how tango is danced by real milongueros. The address is Esmeralda 565
 between Tucuman and Lavalle.
