Dear friends from tango list
The city of Buenos Aires launched a contest for non professional dancers, to
represent Buenos Aires at the International Tango Salon Contest to be held
in Buenos Aires during July 2002.
Although foreign dancers are not acepted to contest in this part of the
tournament, it would be a good opportunity for visitors to share a night at
local milongas,since the contest is now in the qualification round, and the
judges evaluate the dancing , at local milongas previously designed.
The list of milongas is a bit long to include in this message, since the
wualification rounds are taking place now on january and part of february
2002.
Just as an example this coming days of january there will be rounds at

* Wednesday 9,2002-La Viruta/La Estrella. At 12 pm , the qualification
round . The milonga is open from 8 pm to 3 am
Ticket for attendance $ 5 ( wether you are going to dance or to contest,
is the same) - Centro Sur -


* Saturday 12 ,2002- Tropicana Club - At 12 pm qualification rounds .
Milonga is open from 9pm to 6 am -Rivadavia 7331 15 5341-2447 Ticket for
attendance $3 - Oeste -


* Sunday 13 ,2002 - Salón Italo Argentino - At 8 pm qualification round,.
Milonga is open from 6pm to 12 pm- Manuel A Rodríguez 1191 4581-5189
Ticket for attendance $2 Oeste

* Monday 14 .2002 - Confitería "Los Andes" -At 11.30 pm qualification round
. Milonga is open from 9 pm to 2 am- Dorrego 578 4854-8141 Ticket for
attendance $3 Norte


If you are a foreign visitor, this may be a good time to visit this
milongas, it will be like an ordinary dance , except that dancer will be
gently required to leave the floor dance and allow the contestants to show
their skills, afterwards dancing will continue normally for everyone.

I have the complete detail of rounds , and final selection , where 9 couples
will be selected for Buenos Aires. You may see that in this detail of
milonga venues, there are references " Oeste- Norte-Centro Sur", This are
references only for the geographical site of the milonga venue, the 9
couples will end in once couple representing each zone ( North , Center
South,West)
