I just returned from abroad, I spent five months in Argentina.
I did not read Tango-L notes during that period. If what I am about to write
is inappropriate, I apologize.
I found a discussion about the notes in re. to "El Pibe" Avellaneda, whom I
do not know.
Somebody asked about the translations.
It is obvious to me that the sender of those messages wrote them in English,
most likely his/her native language.
He/she proceeded to translate them into Spanish and Italian using a computer
program.
The result was grotesque!
The translations have all sort of grammatical and orthographic mistakes.
The sender obviously has no knowledge of either of those two languages
otherwise he/she would have corrected them.
It seems that "El Pibe" or his friend most likely would use Castilian and or
Italian in their correspondence. The sender of those copies had the pretense
that they were written in those languages and that he/she translated them
into English for the benefit of Tango-Lreaders.
It is obvious that the opposite occurred: the letters were originally
written in English and then translated with lots of errors by a computer.
What a sordid story! Started with a gay interlude and continued with an
heterosexual relationship between a striper and a gigolo. A nice subject for
the next Tango film. What should be the title of such a film? :)
It is nice to be back! :))

Dear Sergio
Welcome back from your travels, hope you had a great time.
How about a trip report?
If it is not allowed to be sent to the list perhaps you could post it on the
communal website.
Regards
dani
