Subject: Linear, circular, spiral, the pelican, grammar and tango.

It amazes me to see how much I have lost during my absence from North
America: I have to catch up with all sort of geometrical terms and moves,
plus birds without the flu such as the pelican and even worse, the correct
grammar of dancing.

"LINEAR BEFORE CIRCULAR "

I entirely agree with Tom here, it is better to start linear, to continue
circular and to end horizontal.

Once horizontal and depending on the degree of communication and good rhythm
with your partner you may, more or less rapidly (let's hope that it is not
too rapidly) to spiral upwards; and at that point as Tom says, remember to
keep heels down and straight legs . Avoid the image of the poor woman with
the stick in the shadowy place and the hunch back man.

I also agree with Derik, if the bolero and the pelican fail, try the
rumba with a reverse sparrow in close embrace, all of them classical moves
in Nuevo Tango.

As to the use of grammar while dancing tango it is my opinion that it is
totally forbidden; I recommend dancing quietly and concentrating in your
partner, the music and those couples around you; while doing this, and
always smoothly and quietly progress from linear to circular to horizontal
and finally spiral upwards, with heels down and straight legs.

My two cents on the subject.

Best regards, Sergio.
