Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has or could give the translation of a
lyrical tango which I like, below is the spanish version.

The version by Agustin has sort of slow intense lyrics and light but
upbeat rhythmic music in background which comes in the foreground
every now and then. Its kinda difficult to decide what to dance to,
the lyrics slow you down and the background rhythm speeds you up and
switching between the both requires a lot of skill. I wonder what
others do in such a situation. Anyways here is the spanish version
from todotango,

Hi, Neeraj,

Since you know the way I dance, you know what I would do with this
background rhythm that speeds you up!!

Since I am not a native English speaker I cannot do an exact translation.
I don't even know the translation into English of half of the words of
this song!! The only I can try is to give you a flavor of what this song
is about!! Hopefully someone in the list will do a better job!!

First, it does not seem to be a very very deep tango. It is not like that
tango played by Enrique Rodriguez orquestra (your can find also find a Di
Sarli version) that reads:

"La dicha es un castillo con un puente de cristal,
Camina suavemente si la quieres alcanzar"

"Happiness is like a castle with a glass bridge,
you should walk smothly if you want to reach it"

The tango you talk about is seems to be about
paying a bill... or something!! It seems that there is a rich
guy that is trying to cheat rather than just paying his bill...
but the owner, who is the person who seems to be like
singing... is very intelligent. Perhaps the rich man is the
same rich man
"...de cuero duro
fumando un puro
se la llevo"

You know that milonga where there is another rich
man that got a girl away from the guy who really
lovers her just because he is rich!!

The song you are talking about seems to be
rather superficial... It says that life is
always "carnaval"... but sometimes you
have to pay rather than try to cheat...

Neeraj: Wonderful text for which thanks. The Agustin Magaldi version however just about
kills it with an unsure vacillating rhythm and near stops without reason or drama, which
lack the wonderful ebb and flow of Argentinean Tango. It is a pity that such a
philosophical text loaded with meaning was wasted on such a mediocre score. JMO. I quite
agree, for the dancer it is puzzle. Fortunately there are scores of amazing tangos with
scintillating music and lyrics. Wish I was a composer to write a score worthy of the
lyrics. By the way the CORRECT name of this Tango is SIEMPRE ES CARNAVAL.
