Hello Marco,
you are going way overboard with effectively calling Pichi a "Tango Nazi".
Maybe as a German I am a bit more sensitive to Nazi comparisons than
others, but it is simply too much. You also seem bothered by Pichi not
using the usual "humble" qualifiers with her statements (IMHO etc). A
statement is a statement, outwardly humble or no. Please read on:

She does have a point. The "Noche de Milongueros" is a label, and then it
is Fabian Salas (or whoever4s) decision who to showcase. Maybe Pichi
should give her list of criteria for qualification as a milonguero.
Criteria that I don4t follow, btw, but she has a right to her opinion,
too. I don4t buy into the milonguero/salon/nuevo style categorization that
is more or less list standard, but I do refer to it when posting and I
don4t vilify others for using it.

Note that she put "approved" in "". She was asked to give the list of
"approved" milongueros. So she came out when challenged and gets attacked
for it. That4s fine, but please do it a bit less excitedly.

Ouch! I assume Pichi is not in the business of exterminating all the non-
milongueros. The real/nuevo discussion has had a few good contributions
the past few days, and valid points were made, but you argue in a way
that4s worse than what you accuse Janis of.

Since when is tango about open-mindedness? Did I miss something? You4re
probably substituing/projecting your own values here. Open-mindedness is
fine, but why attach it to a perceived tango "value system"?

As I said, a statement is a statement, personally I find the overuse of
the IMO/IMHO qualifiers rather annoying. I agree that Janis often comes
across as rather strict in her opinions, but hey, so what? She states an
opinion, you disagree, and that4s that.

4Nuff said.

I don4t follow...regulations? You are a bit too cryptic here. But I doubt
Pichi or anybody else can force any restrictions on the BsAs "market" by
sending e-mails.

That4s ok. Though each and every one of them probably has his or her own
opinion. The trick is to ask many people and then make up your own mind.
>

Didn4t sound like a love letter, Marco. Let me state again that I also
don4t agree with everything Pichi believes, our tango views differ. But I
don4t mind at all that she is very forthright. She cannot force you or
anybody to adopt her points of view. So if you disagree, I suggest you
disagree in a somewhat more relaxed manner.
Now will I be accused of being a Pichi follower?
Regards,
Andreas
