I was busy dancing all week and only just started reading last week's posts
.. I have to say, though I appreciate that other people are enthusiastic
about alt.tango, the angry, noninclusive vibe a lot of this has started
taking is not the spirit I enjoy about alternative functions. It's probably
been addressed in later posts (I haven't read very far into last week's
stuff yet), but since it's in the same e-mail as something talking about my
practica, I think insulting people's names seems like a really base way of
criticizing their opinions, and isn't something I support. I genuinely like
all sorts of music, and though I disagree with many 'fundamentalists' on
many levels, I do enjoy sharing the floor with them, and count many of them
as my friends. I'm glad to provide an alternative venue for those who care
to enjoy it, and hopefully that will only strengthen the overall scene ..
I'm glad trad venues are also available, and I dance at them frequently. I
think baiting people who disagree with you / me / ? is just likely to foster
more dischord between the more traditional and nontrad 'camps,' which is the
opposite of what I'd hope to foment - the bringing together of different
crowds, finding commonalities we all like, extending community.

abrazos,
Andrew

Andrew,
I chose the words I did, based on my experiences & others. I'm not going to go into them & they're not directed at any specific individual, more a certain mindset. Don't forget, some people are going to feel threatened & have issues about our Wed. nights here...
Take care...
Rick
