Subject: Tango "characters"

There are many "characters" in the tango world, I will mention just a few.

We have been discussing the "Teachers" at the milongas, they are always very
active at the practicas but they also show up at the class where they very
seldom pay attention to what is being taught since they are very busy doing
their own teaching. Some are there, as described before, recruiting new
students.

Then we have the ones that come to the class to pick up women. They come
regularly till they hook somebody to vanish with her till the time when he
re-appears because they broke-up.:)) He then re-starts the whole cycle again
causing, in a short period, several ladies to abandon tango all together.

Then we have the good looking, good dancer, well dressed charming guy that
dances with older visiting ladies. True "cafisios" (gigolos) "working" at
the milongas.

Perhaps the most useful ones are those that come to the class, always late
in order not to do the exercises and to avoid paying, to dance with the
beginners. They are useful because, without talking, lead the ladies through
all that is being taught giving them lots of necessary milage .

We also have the very dogmatic ladies (invariably foreign) that tell you how
you should lead or how you should do a certain figure. They seem to ignore
that there are many ways to do everything.

I am sure you can describe many other types and sub-types as well.

Have a good day! :))
