Which adjective do you prefer/use - and which is "correct" - Argentine ?
Argentinean ? Argentinian ?

The adjective appears in all these forms - and of course the dance is
called "Argentine Tango"...

So why would anyone use Argentinean or Argentinian - if the
"correct"/accepted adjective to describe TANGO is - ARGENTINE ?

What's your preference - and rationale ????

I'm told "Argentine" is preferred in The New York
Times Manual of Style. I also happen to think
"Argentinean" sounds like chalk grating on a blackboard.

Wouldn't *that* be fun to dish on, while
we don OshKosh overalls and slap "Dueling Banjos"
onto the stereo and camp it up!

PS Perhaps we could reserve "Argentinean" to mean
"an Argentine with tinnitus."

You talked about the spellings, but what about
pronunciation -- my boss (American) worked in
Argentina at a power plant. He insists on saying
"Argen-TYNE" instead of "Argen-TEEN".

Can any native Spanish speakers give us a clue?
